What Is The Time Timer® ?
The Time Timer® is an innovative new teaching aid aimed
toward time education for both young children and those with special needs. The
abstract concept of time is easy to see and understand with the Time Timer’s
visual depiction of elapsed time. See and “feel” time elapse as the
red dial gets smaller and smaller each minute. No need to be distracted by the
hands and the numbers of a traditional clock face. The Time Timer clearly shows
you how much time is left in any interval of 60 minutes.
How Does The Time Timer® Work?
Simply move the red disc counterclockwise to the desired time
interval. The disc diminishes as time elapses until no red is visible on the timer.
The disc may be moved clockwise or counterclockwise without harming the mechanism.
Making Classrooms More Effective
In a teaching situation, no other tool communicates the concept
of elapsed time as well as the Time Timer.
Used as an interactive teaching tool, this classroom tested teaching aid reinforces
the sense of elapsed time with graphic depiction of the time remaining. The Time
Timer can be used to:
- Show time left to play, get ready or to clean up before the end of lesson
- Time written tests & classroom experiments
- Measure study & lunch periods
- Regulate computer time
Meeting
Special Needs
The Time Timer provides the ability to judge how much time is
left without having to know how to tell the time. The products operate with high
colour resolution, large dial numbers and ultra-quiet quartz movement.
These additional features make the Time Timer perfect for special
needs students with ADD, ADHD, Aspergers, Autism Spectrum Disorders, etc.
Time Timer works in both individual and group situations. Users
are able to understand the passage of time enabling them to monitor their own
activities and in turn improve their self-esteem. Better time awareness also relieves
the stress and anxiety of disorientation. The user is limited only by their
own creativity.
Improving your home and work life
In the workplace and at home, time management is crucial. Being
on time, meeting deadlines and maximising accomplishments are all functions of
good time management. The Time Timer products make the passage of time obvious
and tangible when you want to set a time limit for an activity or when you want
to measure progress against time.
Customer Comments
"I have seven students (six with Autism and one who
has Downs Syndrome.) I like using the Time Timer with my students because it does
not disturb the others, some of whom are extremely noise sensitive."
SPECIAL EDUCATION CLASSROOM TEACHER
"I love your visual time. It has been especially useful
in working with children with Attention Deficit Disorder and traumatic brain injuries."
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST
"The mom of my Autistic student sends her child’s
timer to school with him to keep his day structured. I am amazed at how much it
helps the other kids in my classroom get their work done on time. It’s been
a lifesaver for all the students, not just my special needs kids."
